Welcome to the Scenic Byways of North Central West Virginia!  Running from the hilly heartland to the wild mountains, these roads
link the traveler to beautiful scenery, historic sites, unique shopping,
outdoor adventure, and lots of friendly people.

Connected to surrounding states by I-79 and I-68, the three byways of
Old Route 7 (Rt. 7), Cheat River (Rt. 72), and Northwestern Turnpike
(Rt. 50) provide a 109 mile loop of scenic drives. Together or alone,
they make nice day trips and provide a way for travelers to sample
local cuisine, arts and crafts, and historic traditions.

GPS users in Preston County: note that Rt. 7 is called Veteran's
Memorial Highway, Rt. 72 is Cheat Valley Highway, and Rt. 50 is
George Washington Highway.

Thank you for visiting our site!
